Almost 1,500 homeowners in Dollard des Ormeaux and Pierrefonds-Roxboro who suffered flooding damage in the June 20 rainstorm have signed on to be part of two proposed class-action lawsuits filed in Quebec Superior Court last week, according to the lawyer spearheading the legal action.

Dollard des Ormeaux resident Charlotte Gibson is among the roughly 1,500 residents who have so far signed up to be part of the proposed class-action lawsuits alleging the City of Dollard and the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro did not do enough to mitigate the flooding damage caused by last month’s torrential rainfall.

Beverley Denobrega will never forget the early morning hours of July 13, 1992. As the sun was rising, two police officers knocked at her door in Pointe Claire.
